Dear Cancer, I Am Not Alone

Today is the day they slice you out of me, you and all of your little scouts and parasites, you with your wily ways, greedy fingers, silent chewing, your poison, your hate. You are not me. I am not you. I will not be you. You’re outta here, and you’re not coming back. And I am not alone.

Many thanks to the fabulous friends, friends of friends, role models, ass kickers, lovers, survivors and supporters for these funny, touching, inspirational photographs. I love you all!!!

  1. Thinking of you today. I hope that sharing your experience with others helps just a little. You are loved by many and your kind nature is a light in our world. Danette

  2. I’m pretty sure that when Jason and I crossed the Virginia state line this morning, the state motto on the sign no longer read: “Virginia is for lovers.” Today, it reads: “Virginia is for warriors!” And I’m quite certain that Virginia has them fightin’ words on loan to North Carolina today. So, go be a warrior! We know you will, and we love you THISSSSSSS MUCHHHHHH!

  3. I’m hearing ‘Another One Bites The Dust’ as each of those smarmy cancer cells is blasted out of existence.

“SHOOT IT!…and another one’s down and another one’s gone and another one bites the dust!”

  4. Not once in my life have I ever wished another mother was my own. I wish you could be a mother to everyone in the world — it’d be a much better place 🙂 You are the ultimate warrior woman, and I’m so proud to be able to stand by you in the face of all of this… hmm, let’s call it “cancer shit.” I love you! xx

  5. Sobbing, looking at these pics…I went through the cut last year too. Luckily I didn’t have to go down this road…POWER to you…but that is sort of needless. You have so much already! You are an unbelievably strong and decent soul, Pam!!
