You are the plank.
You are an even-hewn and sanded length
that reaches end to end, your hand upon
my temperamental arc.
You are diameter aimed clean
into the heart of me.
I turn as on a spit of steel
(your steel)
except that
I am flame and meat at once the same.
You are the planet firm in heaven’s sea,
and I the tempest-tossing test
of earth’s humanity.
You are the moon.
I am the tides that pout and turn and then return
in love’s remembered ache.
You are the balance
and I am
the dance.

Nicely done Pam! All as we are best suited and most comfortable! Have always seen you as an explorer, an adventurer, and one unafraid to follow your heart. And yet, even the most daring soul can find some solace in the constraints they are willing to accept, specifically as it pertains to personal relationships and interacting with contemporary society – to live in the mainstream and remain relevant without sacrificing one’s integrity. Hurrah!

Tu sei la tavola.
Sei una lunghezza uniformemente squadrata e levigata
che arriva da un’estremità all’altra, la tua mano sul
mio arco capriccioso.
Sei un diametro puntato dritto
nel mio cuore.
Mi giro come su uno spiedo d’acciaio
(il tuo acciaio)
tranne per il fatto che
sono fiamma e carne allo stesso tempo.
Tu sei il pianeta saldo nel mare del cielo,
e io la prova che sconvolge la tempesta
dell’umanità della terra.
Tu sei la luna.
Io sono le maree che si imbronciano e vagano e poi tornano
