The photograph across the top of the page was taken by me somewhere in Europe, and probably in France. I’m a sucker for that combination of old and new, tough as stone against fragile and aging gates. It’s the story of our lives.
And in the end, it fits the blog rather well, because life is nothing if not a mix of everything.
I went to Florence once. And it was not closed. 1968. I think. The Arno had recently flooded, however, and the Uffizi was closed for repairs. There was still plenty to see. in Florence but I missed one of the world’s gretest art collections. Your photo is a lovely image of a vine covered structure with three windows all lit by that wonderful Tuscan sunlight.
